Your new dentures will improve chewing ability & speech

dentures central coast nsw

Removable dentures are made from lifelike resin teeth bonded to a base. Wearing and having dentures improve the ability of both chewing and speech, whilst providing strong support for facial muscles.

Dentures improve self confidence.

Your Denture Options:

  • A full set of denture replaces your upper or lower teeth
  • Partial dentures replace one or a number of teeth. Metal clips hold the partial dentures in place.

How to Wear New Dentures:

Full or partial dentures take time to adjust to and will never feel the same as having your natural teeth But with that said, today’s dentures are natural looking and more comfortable than past.

Although we will make your dentures well fitting, they do not provide the same strong, biting surface as your natural teeth. Special adhesive will assist in the prevention of food pieces getting stuck between your denture and gums. This will give you the ability of enjoying a wider range of food.

How to Clean Your Dentures:

Keeping your mouth clean and continual brushing morning & evening are as important to prevent tooth decay (partial dentures) and gum disease. Tablets for denture cleaning can be used which alleviate stains and bacteria.

Denture Stabilisation

After teeth have been extracted, the jaw bone that has been supporting the teeth starts to shrink. This shrinkage continues for the rest of your life.

When dentures are worn, this shrinkage can be compensated for by relining the denture, but eventually there is insufficient bone for the denture to stay firm. This is more noticeable with the lower denture.

Dentures can be stabilized by inserting a number of implants into the jaw and clipping the denture on to the implants. There has to be sufficient jaw bone remaining for implants to be placed, so waiting for a large amount of shrinkage to occur is not a good idea.

At Kanwal Dental we recommend that implants be placed in the lower jaw within a few years of having the teeth extracted. before excessive shrinkage has occurred.

The professional team at Kanwal Dental will help you choose the type of denture that’s best for you. To find out more or book an appointment, contact Kanwal Dental today.
