A crown may be fabricated to restore a badly broken down tooth

Dental Crowns & Dental Bridges
A dental crown may be fabricated to restore a badly broken down tooth. The remnants of the tooth are shaped and an impression is taken for the crown to be fabricated in a laboratory. It is often necessary to place a reinforcing post and core inside the root canal of the tooth.
When a tooth is missing a dental bridge may be made by attaching an artificial tooth to one or more crowns on adjacent teeth.
Dental crowns may be made of metal, porcelain or a variety of other tooth coloured materials.
